Last year the committee agreed that it should seek planning permission to extend the theatre. The new extension will improve toilet and washing facilities downstairs for performers. Upstairs will give us an offstage waiting area for performers going onstage and for those coming off stage. Planning permission was granted and work began in late January. This page will show updated images of the building work.
Pictures 1 and 5 show the old extension inside, this part has now been demolished. Picture 2 shows the old extension from the outside, notice the cracks where it adjoins the theatre. Picture 3 shows the committee looking at the plans. Picture 4 shows the plans. On the second row picture 6 shows the foundations being dug, picture 7 shows the hole for the foundations. Picture 8 shows Derek Friday inspecting progress a few weeks back now. On the third row the first three pictures show the work which was done Saturday 12 February to lay the concrete base. Picture 12 shows the finished result. New pictures will be added as the building work progresses.
